Prescriber
The indication must be made by the treating physician, optometrist, orthoptist or healthcare professional from an institution specialized in the rehabilitation of blind and partially sighted people.
The indication for eligibility for a special optical aid exists if the insured person has such a loss of vision that spectacle lenses or contact lenses cannot reasonably suffice.

Documentation
The medical report must clearly describe the insured person's visual impairment. This must include a detailed description of the visual impairment and a medical explanation for the need for the aid.

Procedure
Submit your application to Worldwide Vision. Worldwide Vision will assess your application based on your insurer's guidelines.

Deductible
Reimbursement from your basic health insurance policy is subject to your deductible. If you've opted for a voluntary deductible, your health insurer will first offset the costs against your mandatory deductible and then against your voluntary deductible. Once you've met your deductible, this care will be covered by your insurance up to the maximum amount for which you are insured. The deductible applies to insured individuals aged 18 and over.

5 years

Replacement
For replacement after the 5-year term, a prescription is no longer required if the medical information is known to Worldwide Vision. For repeat prescriptions within the average 5-year term, authorization must be requested from the insurer, along with a quote and a written explanation of why replacement is necessary within the average term.
