Documentation
An authorization must be requested in advance from Achmea. To do so, please submit a motivation letter from the prescriber (treating physician or regional institution for the blind and partially sighted) and a functional justification.
to Worldwide Vision, we will then submit the application to the health insurer on your behalf and if an authorization (approval) is received, the I-Cane can be delivered.
· There must be a justification for the usefulness and necessity of the need regarding orientation and mobility and the
regaining and/or maintaining the insured's independence in society.
Procedure
· The I Cane can only be used if it is a replacement aid for the
current aids to compensate for limitations in walking around obstacles or in orientation.
· An insured person is reasonably dependent on an I Cane if it makes a substantial contribution to the
mobility or orientation in society of an insured person who is blind or so visually impaired that
he is dependent on this. In addition, it must be demonstrated that a blind cane and/or guide dog are available.

The insured is responsible for providing the correct Apple Smartphone version and a corresponding telephone
subscription with data traffic option.
Costs for normal use, such as caps, etc., are borne by the insured.
